Kohlzine
A community struggle by Bernds
Home
Next Deadline: 19th May
How can I contribute?
You can write an article, a poem, make pictures or submit something else creative. Alternatively you can also help simply assemble the texts.
Where can I submit something?
Post your submission in the Kohlzine-thread or send it via email: kohlzine@tfwno.gf
When is the next deadline?
We plan to have this zine every two weeks, in the middle of a month and at the end. For exact dates see the Kohlzine thread.
Do I choose the pictures for my articles?
You can choose/make them yourself if you wish to, otherwise someone else can decide for you.
What topics are suitable?
We want to limit it to KC-tier topics. But that shouldn't constrain you too much, since any topic is KC-tier with the right approach.
How do I know if my text is good enough?
As a rough measure see the already existing texts. Some are for assburgers, other are less serious. What needs to be present is at least an attempt to bring some structure into your text, since we dont want a zine made out of random thrash. E.g. Runglish or stylistic choices or grammar abuse are fine, as long as you reread your text and try to be understandable.
What formats are suitable for submission?
Ideally something which is simply editable text. It can be via pastebin, in .odt or .rtf formats. Alternatively pdf, but we would appreciate if its not a pdf since this format is not so friendly with text formating.
Our culture is in danger. Serious discussions are slowly dying out and shitposting is rampant. One may ask: Why worry? Why even care? But our answer is simple: Because most of us don't want to feel like shit anymore. A culture of outrage and anger is destroying us.
The irony here is that we often need to deal with our discomfort in order to be ourselves. That's the paradox of being shitposters – we can't hide our shitposting, we have to show it all. And a culture of anger makes us feel trapped, unconfident – and it makes us feel less like real people. But the same dynamic drives some of the most creative and funny internet-savvy people you meet through Casey today. As with the rest of the internet, they don't want to think too much about what they're saying as well as what they're posting – they simply want to do something with their eyes, and the things they feel.
We appeal to the Bernds. Only they should listen, and only they can understand what we have to say. We appeal to those who are thirsty for the serious, the factual, the enlightening.
We want to sing the love of serious discussion, the habit of high energy and effort. In an effort to preserve serious discussions and bring back Bernds motivation for serious posting we commit ourself to this endeavour. Shall this little zine be a light in the dark, and shine the path back to serious discussions.
Yours truly, Bernds
